Games coming to a Zune Near you

It was only a matter of time before Microsoft added a gaming component to their Zunes. After all, they've been trying to model the Zune community after the one found on Xbox Live. Not to mention the fact that J. Allard, one of Xbox's founding fathers is now leading the Zune team. Today at the Games Development Conference (GDC), Microsoft revealed its plans to bring games to the Zune. It will be done using Microsoft'sXNA Game Studio 3.0.Before you get too excited, this new software is targeted at developers in order to create basic games for the Zune and other platforms. That means it'll likely take some time before such games actually become available to the public. Games that are created will be compatible with every Zune, including the original (Zune 30). You can also listen to your own music if you want. There are a few limitations when making games for the Zune however. The most obvious being its one-handed control scheme. Secondly, the Zune is not capable of producing 3D graphics, just 2D stuff. And finally, games that are developed will be limited in size to 16mb's. Despite these drawbacks, I certainly won't mind seeing games added to the Zune, but I'm sure some purists here will disagree with me.Sources:Zune InsiderZune Game Development FAQengadgetThanks to all those that sent this in!
